That comic right there summarizes ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME (and some of my other friends on my flist).
#2. I love animals of all kinds. I'm also a birder; I've seen 312 species of birds. My favorite animal is the red fox (SURPRISE, SURPRISE, judging by my name).
#3. In fact, I love nature in general. Camping, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, climbing, you name it... as long as it's got to do with nature, I'm all over it. I've explored everything from the desert canyons of Arizona to the dripping wet jungles of the Amazon, from the parks in my home turf of Maryland to the far flung islands of the Chiloe archipelago. There's still a lot left of Planet Earth I'd love to see, though.
#4. Most importantly, though, I am completely in love with my Lord Jesus Christ, and He is the most important thing in my life. However, I don't believe in shoving that down anyone ELSE's throats, so don't expect me to! (But of course I'm more than willing to talk about it!).
#5. My undergraduate work (as well as some graduate work) was in art history & archaeology and in classics. I'm a Romanist by focus. (With a further focus on the religions of the Roman Empire).
#6. Now I'm pursuing graduate studies of a somewhat related but also different focus: biblical studies at seminary. However... this blog is NOT my every day life, and I am NOT likely to share about my personal life at all in here. This blog is just for fun, just a little bit of diversion, focusing on the entertainment world of books, movies, games, and tv shows... that, and birding! |
